MyVet veterinary group has relaunched Maynooth Hospital following a major investment and upgrade of its premises.
MyVet Maynooth has doubled in size to 2,700 sq ft, and is now equipped to provide highly-specialised care to its small animal patients courtesy of its upgraded facilities.
Our €600,000 investment has now equipped our Maynooth practice with state-of-the-art facilities, including a new operating theatre and dental suite, to provide innovative new treatments for pets with faster diagnosis.
MyVet Maynooth clinic is located at Carton Retail Park. We plan to double our workforce by the end of the year to meet growing demand. The upgraded facilities will also provide advanced training and learning opportunities for veterinary graduates and students. Our practice hosts vet nurses on placement from AIT, DKIT, UCD and veterinary students on placement from UCD.
Our clinic now has newly-installed high-tech equipment including digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, a laboratory as well as a climate-controlled hospital area.
There is a spacious new operating theatre with improved lighting, anaesthetic units and operating tables, multiparameter patient monitors and a wide range of equipment.
The expanded premises now hold a designated cat consult room and cat ward, to provide as stress-free consultations and treatment as possible. A new dog ward has also been installed with walk-in kennels for greater comfort. In addition, all clients will now enjoy access to designated pet-parking spots in front of the clinic.
Liam Moriarty, co-founder of MyVet, said the reopening marked a significant milestone for his business: “The new clinic has been a dream come true for myself and the MyVet team, and has been a personal ambition of mine for a long-time.
“This standard of care which we can now offer our fantastic clients really is cutting-edge, as standards in veterinary care go and would even rival those one would expect in human health.
“These advanced treatments have so far been limited in the Irish veterinary sector so it is really exciting to be one of the first-movers leading the way here and to now have the capacity to greatly expand the scope of care that we can provide for our clients and their pets.”
Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Martin Heydon TD also attended the relaunch.
He said: “I’m delighted to be here today at the relaunch of MyVet Maynooth. Keeping pace with new developments in animal welfare is really important especially as pet ownership is on the rise.
“We are fortunate to have such high standards of care across the Irish veterinary sector that are always being enhanced further.
“I’m pleased to see such world class pet care facilities in Kildare as a result of this new investment by MyVet which will also provide opportunities for specialised training for our exceptional veterinary practitioners.”
