MyVet group consists of 3 clinics in the greater Dublin area. MyVet Lucan, MyVet Maynooth and MyVet Firhouse.
This group was founded in Lucan 2005 by Liam Moriarty and, more recently, has joined the Linnaeus veterinary group and the larger Mars Petcare company.
We currently have 3 sites in Ireland and a team of 70 associates, including 22 vets. MyVet group is a vibrant and progressive practice and offers a good work life balance with a 40 hour work week and no on-call. Our priority is delivering quality care to our patients and improving the skills of our team.
The three clinics are well equipped with everything you'd expect in a modern, progressive veterinary practice. We run by appointment and have excellent vet and nurse teams, support office and CVE programme.
We have a host of additional benefits including:
- VCI paid
- CPD programme
- Contribution towards health insurance
- Gym membership
MyVet Lucan was established by Liam Moriarty in 2005. Having started out with one vet and one nurse in a small converted cottage, the Lucan team has now grown to 24.
In June 2019 we moved into a purpose built hospital next door to the original cottage. Our new, ultra modern hospital is 4 times the size of the original clinic with a spacious reception area, cat consult room, 3 dog consult rooms, 2 operating rooms, cat ward, dog ward and ICU. It is extremely well equipped with DR X-ray, endoscopy and in house lab facilities among the many diagnostics at our fingertips.
We have a great team and a varied caseload. We discuss cases at rounds every day and aim to deliver excellent care to all of our patients. In addition we run a weekly practice meeting to ensure everyone's voice is heard. In 2020 we launched our new CT machine and now provide referral services for practices all around the country. The largest of the three sites it also has a conference room for CPD and staff meetings.
MyVet Firhouse was established in 2008 and is led by Nuala Moriarty. A busy practice, we outgrew our original premises and moved into Firhouse in 2013. The clinic is purpose built with modern equipment and busy with a varied caseload.
We run by appointment and try to work up our own cases as much as we can. Nurses play a significant role in running the clinic and there is a very strong team ethos. We are a member of the Pet Emergency Hospital who take care of our calls out of hours, so we try to maintain a good work life balance.
MyVet Maynooth, led by John Twomey, have a strong claim on being the most fun workplace out of the 3 MyVet clinics. Close proximity to coffee shops and Maynooth village among some of the prime advantages of working here - as well as of course the brilliant team, great facilities, not to mention wonderful clients.
Maynooth is a thriving university town, close enough to Dublin - if that's your thing - but has plenty going on in its own right. Lots of great restaurants & coffee shops and amenities and a great buzz around the town.
This is a modern well run clinic with good equipment and high standard of care. Part of the larger MyVet Group with all the benefits that brings - organised well structured rotas with good time off, shared CPD, CT scanner and plenty of support and back up. This clinic is doubling its footprint and undergoing complete renovation due to be complete by December 2021.
We are proud to be part of the Linnaeus family of practices who share our passion and commitment to the future of the veterinary world.
